Folbre clinks the mister higher Ed lobby


"The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics regularly projects the growth of specific occupations in the U.S., noting which occupations tend to require a college degree. Its official estimate of the percentage of all jobs requiring a bachelor’s degree or above in the U.S. in 2012 was 17.9%. Its projection for ten years down the road, in 2022, is 18.1%.68 This is not a pretty picture for a generation between the ages of 25 and 29 in which 30% of men and almost 40% of women have achieved a bachelor’s degree."
